PicoSure® for Acne Scars, Sun Damage & Uneven Tone
You have the means in you to help revitalize your skin. Using the PicoSure® laser, cell signaling is triggered, which causes cells to communicate with each other. As a result, proteins are released, and injured cells “talk” to each other and release proteins to advance the cells’ healing response. The unique wavelength of light in PicoSure’s technology also uses a specialized lens to convert energy into pressure. This pressure signals to the cells to create new collagen and elastin.
PicoSure®’s ultra-fast pulses work to minimize the amount of heat used. Less heat means less damage to the surrounding skin. In addition, less heat makes PicoSure® safe and results in little downtime. Most patients experience little discomfort and describe the revitalization treatments as almost like a rubber band snapping against your skin. Your provider can use numbing cream to minimize discomfort.
The procedure time depends on the size of the area being treated. However, it is common for most revitalization treatments to be completed in 10 minutes. The number of treatments you need will vary depending on the treated condition and how you respond to the laser. Usually, 2-5 treatments are needed to treat pigmentation fully. Ageless Aesthetics will provide you with a full treatment plan, including the number of treatments you may need.
PicoSure® laser can treat any color tattoo efficiently, in less time, and with less discomfort than customary tattoo removal methods. However, certain ink colors like greens are more difficult to remove and may need more treatment. Depending on the size of the tattoo and the ink colors, tattoo removal treatment lasts about 10-30 minutes. You may need several treatments with the PicoSure® laser to remove your tattoos.
PicoSure® Laser treatments on tattoos are permanent, but skin revitalization treatments may need to be readdressed. PicoSure® treatments can be done every six months to help prevent pigment accumulation and slow the appearance of wrinkles.
